CTOnews.com March 23, Intel announced the acquisition of Tower Semiconductor for $5.4 billion in February 2022 to further strengthen the company's contract manufacturing business. Intel had previously said the acquisition would be completed within the next 12 months, which has not been completed in the past 13 months.

Intel remains optimistic that it is expected to take over Tower by the end of June. Intel Israel issued a statement to Bloomberg this week, with CTOnews.com translated as follows:

We hope to be able to close the Tower transaction in the first quarter of 2023, but it may be delayed until the first half of 2023. This depends specifically on regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.
