The revenue and total volume of telecommunications business have increased steadily, the pulling role of emerging services such as cloud computing has been continuously enhanced, the construction of new infrastructure such as 5G, gigabit optical network and Internet of things has been steadily advanced, and the scale of end-users of network connectivity has been continuously expanded.

Data show that from January to February, telecom business revenue totaled 280.3 billion yuan, an increase of 7.9 percent over the same period last year. The total volume of telecommunications services calculated at the same price last year increased by 17.7% over the same period last year.

As for mobile phone users, by the end of February, the total number of mobile phone users of the three basic telecommunications enterprises reached 1.695 billion, a net increase of 11.88 million over the end of last year. Of these, 5G mobile phone users reached 592 million, a net increase of 31.29 million over the end of last year, accounting for 34.9 percent of mobile phone users and 1.6 percentage points higher than at the end of last year.

In terms of mobile Internet traffic, from January to February, the cumulative mobile Internet traffic reached 41.79 billion GB, an increase of 12% over the same period last year, and the growth rate dropped 8.7% from the same period last year. By the end of February, the number of mobile Internet users had reached 1.468 billion, a net increase of 14.22 million over the end of last year. The average mobile Internet access traffic (DOU) per household in February was 14.04GB / household month, an increase of 14.8% over the same period last year, but lower than that in December last year.

First, the overall operation of telecommunications business revenue has increased steadily, and the total volume of telecommunications services has continued to grow by double digits. From January to February, telecom business revenue totaled 280.3 billion yuan, an increase of 7.9 percent over the same period last year. The total volume of telecommunications services calculated at the same price last year increased by 17.7% over the same period last year.

The revenue of mobile data traffic business is growing at a low speed. From January to February, the three basic telecom companies completed 107.9 billion yuan in mobile data traffic business revenue, an increase of 0.1% over the same period last year, accounting for 38.5% of telecom business revenue, driving an increase of 0.1% in telecom business revenue.

The revenue of emerging business is growing rapidly. The three basic telecommunications enterprises actively developed emerging businesses such as IPTV, Internet data center, big data, cloud computing, and the Internet of things. From January to February, their business income totaled 62.9 billion yuan, an increase of 25.7 percent over the same period last year, accounting for 22.4 percent of the telecom business revenue, driving the growth of telecom business revenue by 5 percentage points. Among them, the revenue of cloud computing and big data increased by 69.8% and 39.3% respectively over the same period last year, while the business revenue of the Internet of things increased by 31.7% over the same period last year.

Among them, the number of fixed Internet broadband access users with 100Mbps and above access rates reached 563 million, accounting for 94 percent of the total users, an increase of 0.1 percentage points over the end of last year; the number of fixed Internet broadband access users with 1000Mbps access rates reached 102 million, a net increase of 10.31 million over the end of last year, accounting for 17 percent of the total users and 1.4 percentage points higher than at the end of last year.

By the end of February, the number of Internet broadband access ports nationwide had reached 1.083 billion, a net increase of 12.31 million over the end of last year. Among them, the number of optical fiber access (FTTH / O) ports reached 1.038 billion, a net increase of 13.21 million over the end of last year, accounting for 95.9 percent of the Internet broadband access ports and an increase of 0.2 percentage points over the end of last year. By the end of February, the number of 10G PON ports with gigabit network service capacity reached 16.59 million, a net increase of 1.362 million over the end of last year.

Steady progress has been made in the construction of 5G network. By the end of February, the total number of 5G base stations had reached 2.384 million, a net increase of 72100 over the end of last year, accounting for 21.9% of the total number of mobile base stations and an increase of 0.6 percentage points over the end of last year.

By the end of February, the penetration rates of 100Mbps and above fixed broadband access users in the eastern, central, western and northeast regions were 93.8%, 94.9%, 93.5% and 93.7%, respectively. The number of broadband access users with 1000Mbps and above access rates reached 48.08 million, 24.76 million, 25.82 million and 3.389 million respectively, accounting for 19%, 16.4%, 16.2% and 9.6% of the total number of fixed broadband access users in the region, respectively.

The eastern region leads the construction and application of 5G. By the end of February, the number of 5G base stations in the eastern, central, western and northeast regions reached 1.132 million, 516000, 590000 and 146000 respectively, accounting for 23.9%, 21.6%, 19.3% and 20.5% of the total number of mobile phone base stations in the region, respectively. The number of 5G mobile phone users reached 263.64 million, 138.71 million, 151.98 million and 37.68 million respectively, accounting for 36%, 35.1%, 34% and 31.5% of the total number of mobile phone users in the region, respectively.

The average traffic gap between mobile Internet access households in various places has widened. From January to February, mobile Internet access traffic in the eastern, central, western and northeast regions reached 18.36 billion GB, 9.26 billion GB, 12.1 billion GB and 2.08 billion GB respectively, an increase of 13.5%, 13%, 9.3% and 9.6% over the same period last year. In February, the average mobile Internet access traffic (DOU) of Xizang, Qinghai, Yunnan, Ningxia, Hainan, Zhejiang and Guizhou provinces exceeded 16GB per household month, and the difference between the highest and lowest DOU values of each province was 14.5GB per household month, which was larger than that of the same period last year.
