Many players bought the game without knowing this configuration requirement, after all, they only saw the GTX 1050 Ti entry-level graphics card or the GTX 1060 listed as the minimum configuration, but the latter also has a 3GB memory version. Prior to this update, Halo: Infinity could still run on a 3GB graphics card despite the error message on boot, and the GTX 1060 3GB worked fine on low quality settings.

Unfortunately, Halo: Infinity can no longer be run on 3GB graphics cards, and the game won't start at all. This means that the official requirement is no longer a recommendation, but a condition that must be complied with.
