CTOnews.com, March 22 / PRNewswire-FirstCall-Asianet /-- Ubisoft recently developed an artificial intelligence tool that can help non-player characters (NPC) in games make interesting conversations called barks,NPC speak out when triggering certain events, helping to make the game world more immersive.

Ubisoft's AI tool, called Ghostwriter, aims to reduce the hassle of writing these conversations by providing the writing team with the barks of the first draft.

How Ghostwriter works is that the writer creates a role and then enters an "event or situation" that the character will experience. Then, depending on the mode you choose, Ghostwriter generates different versions of barks. The writer can edit further, and Ghostwriter will learn from each accepted utterance.

"Ghostwriter was created with the narrative team to help them complete repetitive tasks faster and more effectively, giving them more time and freedom to deal with the narrative, characters and plot of the game," Ubisoft said in its Ghostwriter introduction video. "
