CTOnews.com, March 22 (Xinhua)-- Ford has launched a new Explorer Electric five-seater SUV in Europe, based on Volkswagen's MEB platform. The car can be recharged from 10% to 80% SOC in 25 minutes and will be available for order later this year.

The Explorer EV will be available in two versions, Explorer and Explorer Premium, starting at less than 45000 euros (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 333000 yuan).

Ford said it would not disclose parameters such as the car's mileage in proximity, but it did disclose details of pricing and can now be booked through Ford's European website.

The electric explorer uses a removable 15-inch central control screen. The company said the touchscreen, which can move up and down, should be better able to cope with external glare and hides a built-in lockable storage space for valuables.

Everything else is unknown.
