On the morning of March 22, Beijing time, it is reported that on Tuesday, local time, Invida CEO Huang Renxun announced a plan to open supercomputers for commercial customers to develop artificial intelligence technologies such as ChatGPT. Almost any company can use these powerful but expensive devices through cloud leasing.

Nvidia's rental price is not cheap, including eight A100 or H100 flagship chips for $37000 a month (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 254000 yuan). However, opening the supercomputer to a wider range of business customers will accelerate the development of artificial intelligence. The popularity of artificial intelligence technology in the past has pushed Nvidia's shares up 77% this year, with a market capitalization of about five times that of longtime rival intel.

Nvidia currently dominates the artificial intelligence chip industry and has helped partners such as Microsoft build huge systems for ChatGPT developer OpenAI to answer questions in human language or generate pictures at prompts.

At Nvidia's annual developer conference, Huang Renxun said the company is working with partners such as Oracle to provide cloud access to Nvidia's DGX supercomputer. The supercomputer integrates as many as 32000 Nvidia chips. Through this service, anyone who has a web browser can log on to the supercomputer.

"the iPhone moment of artificial intelligence has begun," Huang Renxun said in an online keynote speech. He also said Nvidia is also working with Microsoft and Alphabet to provide its supercomputers in the form of cloud services for the development of new artificial intelligence products. Nvidia released new chips and software on the same day to reduce the daily operating costs of products such as chat robots.

Hans Mosesman, a chip industry analyst at Rosenblatt Securities, said these products were "several years ahead of the competition". "Nvidia's lead in artificial intelligence software is not only long-term, but also accelerating."

Nvidia is also working with AT&T to improve truck scheduling efficiency; with quantum computing researchers to speed up software development; and with industry giant TSMC to speed up chip development.

Nvidia's new rental service, DGX Cloud, gives more developers the opportunity to use tens of thousands of Nvidia chips. Nvidia says biotechnology company Amgen and software company ServiceNow are already using the service.

Nvidia has also launched a service called AI Foundations to help companies train their customized artificial intelligence models. Owners of several image databases are planning to use the service to avoid copyright issues for images used to generate artificial intelligence content.

Huang Renxun also released new technology to speed up the design and manufacture of chips. The new software uses Nvidia chips to accelerate the steps of chips from software design to lithography. Traditional computing chips may take two weeks to complete these calculations, but Nvidia says its chips and software can do this in one night and reduce the power required from 35 megawatts to 5 megawatts.

Nvidia said it was working with ASML, Synopsys and TSMC to bring the technology to market. Among them, TSMC will be ready to use this technology in production in June.
