Relying on the popularity of the iPhone 14 series, Apple overtook Samsung to top the list of global mobile phone shipments in the fourth quarter of 2022.

Samsung shipped 58.3 million units in the quarter, down 16% from a year earlier and 9% month-on-month.

In the top five rankings, only Apple and OPPO achieved month-on-month growth, with shipments up 42% and 4%, respectively.

Global smartphone shipments reached 1.2 billion units in 2022, down 12% from a year earlier and the lowest since 2013.
