Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com, March 21 / PRNewswire-Asianet /-- CDPR announced a number of games a few months ago, including Wizards 4 based on Unreal 5, the Open World Wizards: remake, the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, and the Wizards: project Sirius.

Project Wizards: Sirius, developed by Boston's Molasses Flood Studios (formerly Drake Hollow and The Flame in The Flood), is a new work in the Wizards universe, and now the game's development plans seem to have changed significantly.

CDPR has issued a new memo to investors saying that they have "reassessed the original conceptual scope and commercial potential of the Sirius project" and are "in the process of developing a new framework for the project".

CDPR seems to be trying to reduce spending on Sirius projects, rather than amortize development costs over a few years, as other companies do. According to the data, the investment of this project is about $7.5 million in 2022 (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 51.6 million yuan) and $2.2 million in 2023.

This shows that CDPR has largely given up on the work they have done because they do not expect to profit from it.

At present, there is little information about the Wizard: project Sirius, except that it will be an "innovative work" of the wizard universe and will tell an "unforgettable story".

A job advertisement posted by The Molasses Flood earlier this year showed that the game would feature action combat, collaboration, AI app-generating elements and branch or non-linear stories, which at first sounded like a multiplayer real-time service game with story elements rather than the traditional RPG.

It is not known whether the Sirius project changed before or after the job ad was released, but CDPR restarted the project, probably because the company took on too much and didn't go well. According to today's information, CDPR continued to invest in the project in the first two months of this year, which we believe should be a derivative work independent of the core CDPR team.
