After disassembling the SSDs, the buyer found that the fake SSDs used Lianyun MAP1602A PCIe 4.0SSD master and Changjiang Storage 128layer TLC 3D NAND flash memory chip, instead of the genuine 8nm Samsung Elpis master and Samsung 128layer TLC 3D V-NAND flash memory chip. As a result, the performance of fake solid state drives is much lower than that of the real ones. The speed test found that the highest value of this fake hard drive is only 4.8GB / s, while the nominal value of 980 PRO can reach 7GB / s.

The incident shows that there is a risk of selling counterfeit products on online second-hand trading platforms.
