▲ Tuyuan: the three Gorges Group said that the hydrogen fuel cell power ship "three Gorges hydrogen Zhou 1" is a catamaran transport ship powered mainly by hydrogen fuel and supplemented by lithium iron phosphate battery. It adopts hydrogen fuel cell and lithium battery power system independently developed in China, and has the characteristics of high environmental protection, high comfort, low energy consumption and low noise. It will be mainly used for traffic, inspection and emergency work in the three Gorges Reservoir area and between the three Gorges and Gezhouba dams.

CTOnews.com learned from the officials of the three Gorges Group that the hydrogen fuel cell power ship "three Gorges hydrogen Zhou 1" was jointly developed by Changjiang Electric Power, which belongs to the three Gorges Group, and China Shipbuilding 712 Research Institute, and began construction on May 17, 2022.

According to the three Gorges Group, the project is an important breakthrough in the field of new energy boats, and has positive demonstration significance for exploring the application of hydrogen energy technology in inland river ships. it marks a new level of application in the key technical fields of hydrogen fuel cell ships in China.
