Nvidia says NVIDIA DLSS has revolutionized the neural network graphics of PC games since its launch in 2018. Neural network graphics combine AI with graphics to create an accelerated rendering workflow, which is constantly learned and improved. DLSS does not need to render every pixel in the original frame, so that the game only needs to render 1 to 8 pixels, and uses AI and GeForce RTX Tensor Cores to reconstruct the remaining pixels to improve the frame rate, while providing a clear, high-quality image that is comparable to the native resolution.

In detail, when DLSS 3 is enabled, AI reconstructs 3/4 of the first frame using DLSS super-resolution technology and the complete second frame using DLSS frame generation technology. Taken together, DLSS 3 rebuilds 7/8 of all displayed frames. At the same time, DLSS 3 uses NVIDIA Reflex to synchronize GPU and CPU, optimizing response time and reducing system latency. Reducing system latency helps to improve the response speed of game operations, ensuring that the corresponding actions are displayed almost instantly on the screen after the player clicks the mouse or enters other controls. DLSS 3 up to can reduce system latency to twice as much as native rendering.
