The report said Samsung APS Holdings cooperated to develop 3500PPI's Fine Metal Mask (FMM) for the manufacture of "OLED on Silicon" (OLEDoS), mainly to meet the display needs of VR / AR head display. Samsung display (Samsung Display) is still developing RGB OLEDoS.

Apple had previously made a request to Samsung display and LG Display display (LG Display), the initial OLEDoS requirement is 2800ppi, and then increased the resolution to 3500ppi. Samsung is likely to be in talks with APS Holdings about a 3500ppi FMM partnership, as this is the resolution that its potential customers want.

CTOnews.com also learned from the report that APS has developed ultra-high resolution FMM plates and masks of 4000 ppi.
