CTOnews.com March 18 news, the State Post Bureau today announced the operation of the postal industry in February 2023. From January to February, the postal industry completed a total of 21 billion pieces of mailing and delivery business, an increase of 3.0% over the same period last year. Of these, express delivery business totaled 16.4 billion pieces, an increase of 4.6% over the same period last year, while postal group mailing business totaled 4.59 billion pieces, down 2.3% from the same period last year.

From January to February, the volume of express delivery in the same city totaled 1.71 billion, down 8.0% from the same period last year; 14.3 billion in other places, up 5.6% from the same period last year; and 400 million international / Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan business, an increase of 35.7% over the same period last year.

From January to February, the business income of the postal industry (excluding the direct operating income of the Postal savings Bank) totaled 226.92 billion yuan, an increase of 4.7 percent over the same period last year. Of this total, the revenue from the express delivery business totaled 161.72 billion yuan, an increase of 2.7% over the same period last year, while the revenue from the postal group's mailing business totaled 6.46 billion yuan, down 9.5% from the same period last year. In February, the mail and delivery business of the postal industry completed 11.57 billion pieces, an increase of 27.8% over the same period last year. Among them, the express delivery business volume completed 9.18 billion pieces, an increase of 32.8% over the same period last year, while the postal group mailing business volume completed 2.39 billion pieces, an increase of 11.8% over the same period last year. In February, the business income of the postal industry (excluding the direct operating income of the Postal savings Bank) reached 114.24 billion yuan, an increase of 27.4% over the same period last year. Of this total, the revenue from the express delivery business reached 84.97 billion yuan, an increase of 29.3% over the same period last year, while that of the postal group reached 3.43 billion yuan, an increase of 10.1% over the same period last year. From January to February, the volume of express delivery in the same city, other places, and international / Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan accounted for 10.4%, 87.2% and 2.4% of the total express business respectively, and business revenue accounted for 6.0%, 51.2% and 10.6% of the total express revenue, respectively. Compared with the same period last year, the proportion of express delivery volume in the same city decreased by 1.4 percentage points, that of other places increased by 0.9 percentage points, and that of international / Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan business increased by 0.5 percentage points.

From January to February, the proportion of express business volume in the eastern, central and western regions was 76.0%, 16.1% and 7.9% respectively, and the proportion of business income was 75.9%, 14.2% and 9.9%, respectively. Compared with the same period last year, the proportion of express business volume and revenue in the eastern region decreased by 1.7% and 1.3% respectively, while that in the central region increased by 0.9% and 0.6%, respectively. In the western region, the proportion of express business volume increased by 0.8%, and that of express business income increased by 0.7%.
