CTOnews.com March 18, Sony announced the launch of a new headset in India, which will replace the WH-CH710N mid-range active noise reduction headset. Sony WH-CH720N headphones are the third generation of Sony earphones after the flagship 1000X series and mid-to-high-end 900s, catering to users who prefer more balanced sound output rather than extra bass. The price is 9999 Indian rupees (CTOnews.com Note: currently about RMB834).

The key feature is the lightweight design of the Sony WH-CH720N, which Sony says is its lightest earphone design ever, with active noise reduction. Headphones weigh 192g, compared with 223g for the previous CH710N.

The function remains the same. Sony WH-CH720N is equipped with dual noise sensors and V1 noise chip to achieve 20 levels of customizable active noise reduction, which can be adjusted through Sony's Headphones Connect mobile application. Support to enable active ambient sound mode and automatically adjust the noise cancellation level according to the user's surrounding environment.

Users will also get Sony's iconic DSEE audio upgrade engine, while the closed 30mm dynamic drive will be consistent with previous products. The new CH720N headset supports Bluetooth 5.2 connections, and the codecs and audio formats supported by the headset remain the same. It is also equipped with a beamforming microphone for clearer audio calls.

While audio support remains the same, Sony WH-CH720N seems to offer a higher impedance of 320ohms.
