In order to be consistent with the platform and provide the best user experience, we now expect our OEM partners to launch the first notebooks with Ryzen 7040HS processors in April.

AMD officials did not disclose the specific reasons for the delay. However, AMD recently adjusted the specifications of these chips, removed the support for the PCIe 5.0interface and reduced the peak clock of the integrated GPU.

AMD 7040 series notebook processors use 4nm technology, using 8-core Zen4 CPU and RDNA3 kernel display, kernel display specifications up to 12CU 3.0GHz, and equipped with the latest Ruilong AI engine. In terms of memory support, the AMD 7040 series notebooks support DDR5-5600 and LPDDR5x-7500.
