Ningbo Zhoushan Port is the world's largest port in terms of annual cargo throughput, with a cargo throughput of 1.261 billion tons in 2022, ranking first in the world for 14 consecutive years, and 33.35 million TEUs of container throughput, ranking firmly in the top three in the world.

The "Mediterranean Tessa" was built by Shanghai East China Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of China Shipbuilding Group Co., Ltd., and delivered in Shanghai on March 9. It is currently the largest class container ship completed and delivered in the world. The total length of the ship is 399.99 meters, which is more than 60 meters longer than the world's largest aircraft carrier, with a width of 61.5 meters and a deck area similar to that of four standard football fields. With a depth of 33.2 meters, the maximum number of stacked boxes can reach 25 stories, which is equivalent to the height of 22 storeys. The maximum container capacity is 112 TEUs more than the former world's largest container ship "Changyi" docked at Ningbo Zhoushan Port on July 3, 2022. It is a well-deserved "giant" and "cargo king" at sea.
