CTOnews.com, March 17 (Xinhua)-- according to Reuters, the European Commission postponed its ruling on Microsoft's $69 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 476.1 billion yuan).

Microsoft has proposed remedies to obtain EU antitrust approval for its acquisition of Activision Blizzard, and the EU has postponed the interim deadline for a ruling on the deal from April 25 to May 22, according to an European Commission document on Friday.

While details of the remedies provided were not made public, Microsoft recently announced that it would bring call of Duty to new consoles and cloud gaming platforms if the deal was approved.

"We have always maintained our commitment to bring call of Duty to Nintendo consoles and cloud game streaming services provided by Nvidia, Boosteroid and Ubitus, and to more devices," a Microsoft spokesman said. "We are now providing a binding commitment to the European Commission to ensure that this deal benefits gamers in the future."

Sources said it was possible for the company to win EU permission through such licensing agreements and other behavioral remedies, while it was unclear whether UK regulators would do the same.
