CTOnews.com March 17 news, today Polestar Polar Star's first ultra-luxury pure electric SUV-- Polar Star 3 was officially released in the Chinese market, and announced a new price system in the Chinese market: dual-motor long-lasting version 698000 yuan, dual-motor high-performance version 798000 yuan. The car is positioned as a high-performance pure electric 5-seat SUV, and the first model is equipped with dual motors and large-capacity battery packs. It will be unveiled at the Shanghai Auto Show in April 2023. It is scheduled to start production at the Chengdu plant in mid-2023, and the first batch of deliveries are expected to begin in the fourth quarter of this year.

In terms of appearance design, Star 3 is the first product that continues the new design language system of the Polar Precept concept car, showing a full sense of sculpture and the future with a wide body posture with a great sense of power. As an ultra-luxury pure electric 5-seat large SUV, the Polar 3 has a body length of 4900 mm, a height of 1627 mm, a width (including rearview mirror) of 2120 mm, a wheelbase of 2985 mm, and a vehicle wind resistance coefficient reduced to 0.29Cd.

In terms of interior design, Star 3 offers four interior themes, each of which is made up of selected main tones and innovative materials. Star 3 seats are available in a variety of materials: Animal Welfare (Animal Welfare Certification) Nappa leather front seats with ventilation and massage functions. The MicroTech seat is made of biological and environmentally friendly materials with excellent touch, durability and air permeability. The wool fabric seat is made of animal welfare certified wool, which is skin-friendly, wear-resistant and sedentary without wrinkle. There are two kinds of materials for interior decoration: the design of black mahogany interior decoration is inspired by household design technology, and the recycled aluminum decoration is made of recycled metal.

Polar Star 3 is equipped with a 9-inch instrument display screen and a 14.5-inch central touch display screen, and the first model is equipped with a HUD head-up display system. The car part uses the native Android car system jointly developed by Polar Star and Google, comes standard with OTA air upgrade function, and will support iFLYTEK, Amap, Huawei App Store, NetEase Yun music and so on for the Chinese market.

The car is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip, supports high-definition display, high-quality surround sound effects and can be interconnected with mobile phones and other devices. In-car radar sensors can detect the smallest movement in the submillimeter level to prevent infants or pets from being accidentally locked in the car. The system is also connected to the in-car air-conditioning system to avoid heatstroke or hypothermia.

In terms of intelligent driving, Star 3 is equipped with a hardware combination of 5 millimeter wave radars, 5 external cameras (4 look cameras + 1 front 8 megapixel camera, 120-degree wide-angle view camera) and 12 ultrasonic sensors. it has sufficient computing redundancy to avoid the security risks caused by stutter or downtime caused by lack of computing power. The future optional driving assistance kit with lidar includes lidar and Nvidia Drive Orin chips from Luminar, plus three cameras (one on the front windshield and two on the side of the car) and a forward-looking camera cleaning function to provide real-time detection of the environment around the vehicle (especially for long distances). Vehicles can conduct more comprehensive 3D scans of their surroundings, helping to prepare for future autopilot.

In terms of power, for the Chinese market, the first Ji Xing 3 model provides dual-motor long-lasting version and dual-motor high-performance version, both of which are equipped with front and rear double permanent magnet synchronous liquid-cooled motors. The whole vehicle has a weight balance of front and rear axles of 50amp 50. The power parameters are as follows:

The long-lasting version of the dual motor can provide a maximum power of 360 kilowatts and a maximum torque of 840 Nm, with an acceleration time of 5.0 seconds from 0 to 100 km / h.

The high-performance version of the dual motor provides a maximum power of 380 kilowatts and a maximum torque of 910 Nm, with an acceleration time of 4.7 seconds from 0 to 100 km / h.

The first model of Polar Star 3 has a battery pack capacity of 111kWh (ternary lithium battery supplied by Ningde era). The long-lasting version of dual-motor and the high-performance version of dual-motor target range of 670km and 620km respectively (CLTC operating conditions). The car is based on a 400-volt electrical architecture and has a maximum charging power of 250 kilowatts under DC charging conditions, so that it takes only 30 minutes to charge the battery from 10% to 80%.

In terms of suspension system, Polar 3 adopts front double-arm and rear integral multi-link independent suspension, and is equipped with CDC continuous variable damping control shock absorber and active double-cavity air suspension provided by ZF. The CDC continuous variable damping control shock absorber can automatically adjust the shock absorber parameters at the frequency of 500times per second according to different road conditions, realizing the instantaneous adjustment of soft and hard damping and improving driving comfort. The active double-cavity air suspension can be selected according to different scenarios, such as loading mode, off-road mode, automatic trimming and speed adjustment.

All models of the Star 3 come standard with Swedish gold 4-piston Brembo front brake calipers and 400mm ventilated integral front brake discs. This brings a rapid braking response to Polar 3, enabling the vehicle to achieve a braking distance of only 34 meters from 100 kilometers per hour to rest.

It is worth mentioning that the interiors of Star 3 are widely made of recyclable environmentally friendly materials: except for environmentally friendly seats and interior materials, all visible textiles in the car are made of recyclable PET materials; ECONYL interior carpets are made of 100% recycled nylon materials in fishing nets; and all doors and trunk load racks are made of NFPP (natural fiber polypropylene). 40% weight and 50% plastic consumption can be reduced, and the proportion of plasticizer can be reduced from 45% to 1%.
