CTOnews.com March 17 news, Benchlife today released new news about Intel's new generation of desktop processors Arrow Lake-S and Meteor Lake-S.

According to the latest news, the Meteor Lake-S desktop processor, which was previously announced to be launched in the first half of 2024, will be cancelled, and the Arrow Lake-S will be launched along with the 800 series motherboard. Arrow Lake-S will maintain the core specification of 8p + 16e.

The Arrow Lake-S uses the LGA 1851 slot, and the latest news says that this slot will be used until 2026, which means that later Lunar Lake will also use this slot.

On the motherboard, it is reported that Intel's 800 series chipsets including Z890, B860 and H810 Magi H870 have been cancelled, and the W and Q series have been classified into the commercial market. The new generation motherboard fully supports DDR5 memory.

According to previous revelations, Intel will launch a new Meteor Lake series of processors for mobile use this year, and this year's new desktop processor will be the 13th-generation Core Refresh version, and there will be a new motherboard + new architecture CPU desktop platform next year.

The new generation of Meteor Lake will adopt Intel 4 process and external process, and introduce "Tile" design for the first time, integrating CPU, SOC, nuclear display and IOE chips. In terms of process, Intel announced that the Intel 7 process has been mass produced and Intel 4 production is ready. With the launch of Meteor Lake, the production capacity of Intel 4 will be increased in the second half of this year. The Intel 3 process is moving forward as planned, and the test chips of the Intel 20A and 18A processes have been rolled out.
