CTOnews.com March 17 news, ASUS forecast AM5 platform motherboard can support a single root 48GB of memory, up to 192GB of DDR5 memory.

ASUS uses the ROG Strix X670E-E Gaming WiFi test board, using Ryzen 9 7950X processor, plugged in four 48GB DIMM memory, in Win11 system display is 192GB.

AMD currently has certain restrictions on the AM5 platform, only supporting the use of 8GB, 16GB and 32GB memory modules.

CTOnews.com previously reported that AMD is developing AGESA BIOS firmware that will add support for 24 GB and 48 GB memory sticks. Motherboard manufacturers are expected to offer a new BIOS download in April.

ASUS says the X670E-E motherboard uses the latest version of AGESA microcode testing, and the system is stable enough to get screenshots of Windows 11 memory working with Task Manager and CPU-Z open at the same time.
