Thanks to CTOnews.com netizens EdgeOS, anti-rain hedgehog, soft media new friend 2010825, Microsoft to fear, Mr_C_rM, Dest1n, Terrence clue delivery! CTOnews.com March 17, Microsoft today released Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22621.1465 and Build 22624.1465 (KB5023775) preview updates for Beta channels.

Build 22624.1465 = new features are introduced.

Build 22621.1465 = New features are turned off by default.

New features in Build 22624.1465 introduce real-time subtitles in more languages

Real-time subtitles can help people who are deaf or hard of hearing to read real-time subtitles in their mother tongue. The first live subtitle version of the Windows 11 2022 update provides English subtitles with an emphasis on English (US).

In the latest version, real-time subtitles can also be provided in Chinese (simplified and traditional), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish and other English dialects.

First, you can use WIN + Ctrl + L keyboard shortcuts to open real-time subtitles, or from the Quick setup accessibility pop-up window through Quick setup. When opened for the first time, real-time subtitles will prompt you to download the required speech recognition support to enable subtitles on the device. If the preferred Windows language does not have speech recognition support, or if you need support from other languages, you can download speech recognition support for real-time subtitles in Settings > time and language > language and region.

Updated touch keyboard settings

Microsoft is introducing an update for the new touch keyboard setting, which replaces the Show Touch Keyboard when not connected check box under Settings > time and language > Type > Touch Keyboard, and uses a new drop-down menu that contains three options to control whether to click on the edit control to start the touch keyboard:

Never: even if the hardware keyboard is not connected, the touch keyboard will not be opened.

When the keyboard is not connected: the touch keyboard is displayed only if the device is used as a tablet without a hardware keyboard.

Always: the touch keyboard is displayed even if the hardware keyboard is connected.

Cloud suggestion in simplified Chinese IME (CTOnews.com Note: input method Editor)

Microsoft is trying some changes to make it easy for users to enter buzzwords in simplified Chinese. These changes include improved cloud recommendations and integrated search recommendations.

Cloud recommends that the most relevant words in Bing be added to the IME candidate window. Microsoft has also updated its back-end logic so that it can provide better and newer suggestions.

The integrated search suggestions provide users with other suggestions similar to what you see on the Bing search page. Users can insert suggestions as text or search directly in Bing.

To turn on these functions, CTOnews.com friends can select the V-shaped button on the right side of the IME candidate window to find the "Open" button.

Multi-application booth mode

Multi-application booth mode is a locking feature of Windows 11 that allows IT administrators to select a set of allowed applications to run on the device while blocking all other functions. Enables administrators to create multiple different applications and access configurations for different user types, all on one device.

Changes and improvements in Build 22624.1465 [voice access]

The in-application help page was redesigned in the voice access introduced by Build 22624.1391 so that all commands and supplementary information can now be accurately included.

Fixes for Build 22621.1465 and Build 22624.1465 this update implements the third phase of distributed component object Model (DCOM) enhancement. After you install this update, users cannot use the registry key to close the changes.

This update addresses issues affecting computer accounts and Active Directory. When a user reuses an existing computer account to join the Active Directory domain, the join fails. The problem occurs on devices with Windows updates installed on or after October 11, 2022.

Known problem [real-time subtitle]

On ARM64 devices, if users switch languages in the real-time subtitle language menu, enhanced speech recognition support installed through the language and locale pages will need to restart real-time subtitles.

Real-time subtitles in traditional Chinese are not currently available for Arm64 devices.

Some languages displayed on the language and locale pages will indicate speech recognition support (for example, Korean), but real-time subtitles are not yet supported.

When you add a language through the language and region settings page, the progress of the installation of language features may be hidden and users may not see the installation of enhanced speech recognition complete.

Subtitle performance may decrease in non-English languages, and there is a lack of out-of-language filtering in non-English (American) languages, which means incorrect subtitles will be displayed for non-subtitle languages.
