Start a wireless hotspot tutorial through a computer system

Now, wireless network has become our usual means of surfing the Internet, because it is convenient and fast. When only one computer can connect to the Internet, we will turn on wireless hotspots so that more people can connect to the Internet and surf the Internet. We are familiar with many ways to open hotspots, such as opening hotspots free of charge in Tencent computer management home, using 360 portable wifi and so on. So can the problem of turning on wireless hotspots be solved by relying solely on the operating system without the help of these software?

Next, let's take Win7 as an example to show you.

First, to verify that the wireless hotspot is turned on, let's look at the adapter in the network sharing center, as shown in the following figure:

Next, we open the run window, enter the command "netsh wlan set hostedwork mode=allow ssid= [wireless name] key= [wireless password]", then enter, and the prompt appears as shown in the figure, indicating that the wireless hotspot is set successfully.

Please run as an administrator.

The command can also be executed step by step:

Netshwlan set hostedwork mode=allow / / enable the virtual wifi network card and allow the managed network

Netsh wlan set hostedwork ssid=xianxian / / specify the wireless network name

Netsh wlan set hostedwork key=12345678 / / specify wireless password

Netsh wlan set hostedwork key=12345678 keyusage=persistent/temporary

/ / specify the validity period of the password. Persistent is permanent and temporary is temporarily valid. This command is executed together with the key command, otherwise it is invalid / /

Then, we go back to the network sharing center, check the adapter, and there is an extra "wireless connection 2". Note that the network card it uses is Micosoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter (Virtual Wireless Network Card), and it is in an "unconnected" state at this time.

From figure 1, we can see that we use a wireless connection to connect to the Internet, so we need to right-click "Wireless Network connection", open the "Properties" window, click the "share" option, select "Internet connection sharing", select the newly added "Wireless Network connection 2" in the "Home Network connection" option, and make sure.

Note: when our computer is locally connected, please share it in "Local connection".

At this point, we find that the wireless network connection has the word "shared".

Go back to the command line window and enter the command "netshwlan start hostednetwork" to turn on the wireless hotspot. We will see the wireless hotspot "Wireless Network connection 2" from the "unconnected" state to the on state, and to the wireless we set up earlier.

Open the network icon in the lower right corner of the computer and find that a wireless hotspot named "xianxian" already exists. Test with the mobile phone, you can connect successfully.

Looking at our wireless hotspot status, we found that its IP address is 192.168.137.1, which is the default IP of the virtual network card.

When we are not using wireless hotspots, we can use the command "netsh wlan stop hostednetwork" to stop using hotspots.

If you don't want the hotspot, you can disable the wireless wifi by using the command "netsh wlan set hostedwork mode=disallow".

Note:

Because of the function of the wireless network card, please make sure that the wireless network connection is enabled when using it.

If we are using a local connection and sharing a local connection, just turn on the wireless connection.

The "virtual Wifi network card" requires the driver of the real network card to be designed and developed specifically for Windows7. Fortunately, as long as the wireless card driver that has passed the "Windows7 logo authentication" supports this mode, we can directly look for this logo when we choose and purchase the wireless card. If the virtual wireless network card does not appear in the network connection after running the mode=allow command, the real network card does not support this feature.
