Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com, March 16 (Xinhua)-- recently, a Twitter user @ TCNOco said that he bought a genuine Windows 10 professional key in the Microsoft store, but could not activate the operating system. So he contacted Microsoft's official support department, who unexpectedly activated the system for him with a pirated script.

According to @ TCNOco, he initially communicated online with Microsoft support, but did not get a solution. Later, when the problem was escalated, a Microsoft representative remotely logged in to his computer through the Quick Assist application and ran a command that successfully activated Windows.

Surprisingly, however, this command is actually an unofficial script designed to crack the operating system. @ TCNOco contacted the developer of the script, who confirmed that the activation method was not official (in other words, pirated). They even said @ TCNOco was not the first person to report the situation: "this is the second time we have been told that Microsoft support staff are using this script. It's not official and it's illegal."

In theory, @ TCNOco can use an activated operating system. After all, he has purchased a genuine key from a regular source. Ironically, @ TCNOco said he spent $200 on an operating system to avoid downloading third-party activation software, only to be injected with a cracking script by Microsoft.

This incident has aroused heated discussion and doubt among netizens, some people think that this may be an irregular operation of individual support staff, and suggest @ TCNOco to reinstall the system and change the key. Some people wonder whether this has anything to do with the recent popular "fake Microsoft support" fraud. and warn people against scams that claim to be from Microsoft or other companies' technical support teams, asking for personal information or paying fees to solve computer "problems".
