CTOnews.com March 16 news, DreamWorks Animation fulfilled the promise made in August last year, today officially open source MoonRay renderer. The company used the MoonRay renderer to produce films such as Dragon trainer 3, Bad League, Puss in Boots and so on.
The MoonRay renderer is a proven, physically based, material-based multi-machine renderer. DreamWorks hopes to make it a more competitive renderer through open source MoonRay.
CTOnews.com learned from the report that MoonRay supports the Arras distributed computing framework using DreamWorks Animation and uses Intel software components such as Embree and ISPC.
