CTOnews.com March 16, Imagination Technologies and Core Avionics & Industrial Inc. ("CoreAVI" for short) will start with the IMG B series and bring advanced safety-critical drivers to PowerVR GPU. CoreAVI will provide graphics driver support for IMG BXS GPU and implement the next generation of safety-critical applications for automotive platforms. Customers will accelerate product deployment with stronger API support.

CoreAVI's Vulkan-based safety-critical GPU acceleration driver-VkCore SC is designed to meet the requirements of high performance and flexibility and achieves ISO 26262 ASIL D-level certification. The driver supports Imagination B-Series GPU, enabling developers to seamlessly migrate security-critical software stacks between different silicon implementations, greatly increasing flexibility and scalability, and reducing the total cost of ownership of the security system.

Through the VkCoreGL SC1 and VkCoreGL SC2 OpenGL SC1 and OpenGL SC2 libraries running on VkCore SC, integrators can use OpenGL for development while enjoying the benefits of Vulkan API. VkCore SC is also supported by the GPU security monitor TrueCore and a set of algorithms ComputeCore for accelerating vector and matrix mathematical operations. VkCore SC is the foundation of CoreAVI's security-critical application platform that meets the needs of any security graphics and computing application in all market verticals.

Imagination has introduced GPU, AI and connectivity solutions for vehicle specification-level applications for secure man-machine interface (HMI) computing and graphics. Imagination's GPU enables more powerful ADAS applications in a scalable multi-core design for compute-intensive scenarios that require real-time automotive sensor data processing.

The IMG B-Series provides computing power of up to 6 TFLOPS (trillion floating-point operations per second), reducing power consumption by up to 30%, reducing area by 25%, and filling rate by 2.5% compared with previous generations. The IMG BXS GPU series pays more attention to security, using standard BXT, BXM, and BXE configurations, but adds support for ISO 26262 / ASIL-B feature security features. the tile area protection feature marks the configurable area of a rendered block on a rendered frame as security-critical, and GPU can check that it is executed and rendered correctly.
