CTOnews.com, March 15 (Xinhua) for decades, automakers have placed all their dashboards under the steering wheel, causing drivers to look away slightly to see information such as speed and fuel volume. Now BMW has launched a new "panoramic field of vision (Panoramic Vision)" technology that aims to raise these important data to the level of sight. The company unveiled a head-up display that spans the entire width of the windshield that provides drivers and passengers with all the information they need without looking away.

According to CTOnews.com, drivers can choose what information to display on the panoramic view display, including speed, time and currently playing songs, which can clearly display information on a black background.

When BMW unveiled the i Vision Dee concept car at CES 2023 in January, it showed a new look-up display, but in that version the information was digitally projected directly onto the windshield. By contrast, the "panoramic field of view" display is built into the bottom of the windshield.

The Panorama display will be launched in the first NEUE KLASSE (or new category) models from 2025, a series of electric vehicles produced by BMW. According to BMW, other features of the BMW iDrive will also be included in the NEUE KLASSE model. However, we may have to wait until September this year at IAA Mobility 2023 in Munich to learn more.
