CTOnews.com March 15, Microsoft Edge browser developer has a lot of new features to test this week, and the latest development version 112.0.1722.7 brings a number of new features to desktop and Android platforms, as well as a number of fixes and improvements.

New features include the ability to fix tag groups, automatically provide name advice for tag groups (currently only in English), improved ad blocking on Android, and now block ads by long-pressing the video. The release notes also remind users of the recently launched video super-resolution feature, which can improve the definition of blurred low-resolution video on devices that meet specific hardware requirements.

The update log attached to CTOnews.com is as follows:

New feature: fixed tag group: you can fix the label group in the browser, even if you close the browser will not be lost.

Automatically switch profiles: when you click on a workspace join link, the browser will automatically switch to the corresponding profile.

Automatic naming of tag groups: when creating a tag group, the browser will give a suggested name based on the content of the tag (currently only in English).

Video Intelligent Discovery: you can use the Intelligent Discovery feature to view video-related information and recommended content during video playback.

Android version:

Ad blockers can now be enabled by long pressing the video.

WebView2:

An experimental Custom Data Partition API has been added to create custom data partitions for WebView2 instances.

An experimental CookieManager API has been added to manage Cookie in the WebView2 instance.

An experimental Profile.Delete API has been added to delete the configuration file in the WebView2 instance.

An experimental Launching External URI Scheme API has been added to start the external URI scheme from the WebView2 instance.

According to Microsoft's official release schedule, the company plans to push version 112 to a stable channel in the week of April 6, 2023.
