Tesla would have received funding for these projects through the California Energy Commission's (CEC) Clean Transportation Rural Electric vehicle charging Program (Clean Transportation Rural Electric Vehicle Charging Program) and will receive $6.4 million to build these super-large charging stations.

However, according to a letter obtained by Drive Tesla, Tesla will not accept the money because Tesla is unwilling to comply with the rules related to payment infrastructure requirements. According to the application manual of the program, qualified charging stations must have a variety of payment methods, including plug and play automatic payment, credit card payment and mobile payment.

Tesla's super charger does not have a screen and pays the charging fee through Tesla App or the official website, which creates a smooth and smooth payment process without touching the screen. Tesla believes that this simple and easy way of payment has greatly improved customer satisfaction.
