CTOnews.com March 15, Boeing announced today that two Saudi airlines announced plans to introduce as many as 121787Dreamliners on March 14. In terms of value, this is the fifth largest civil aircraft order in Boeing's history.

Among them, Saudi Airlines will order 39 787 aircraft, the order also includes the purchase intention of another 10 aircraft, so as to develop its global route network. The deal involves two models, the 787-9 and 787-10.

CTOnews.com learned from Boeing officials that on the same day, Saudi Arabia's newly formed Riyadh Airlines announced that it would buy 39 7879s, as well as its intention to buy another 33 aircraft.

Boeing said both deals were part of Saudi Arabia's strategic plan to transform the country into a global aviation hub. The Saudi civil aviation industry plans to serve 330 million passengers a year and attract 100m tourists by 2030.
