The fourth generation of EPYC embedded processors adopt the same 5nm Zen 4 architecture as the mainstream "Genoa" platform, with excellent performance and scalability. The target markets of these embedded processors are network, security, storage and industrial system applications.

CTOnews.com learned from the report that AMD has launched 10 models for the EPYC Embedded 9004 series, with 16 cores at the lowest end and 96 cores at the highest end. In a two-slot system, up to 192 cores and 384 threads can be provided.

The new EPYC Embedded 9004 SKU largely follows the mainstream EPYC products. Like Genoa, there are-P variants, which are limited to single-slot configurations.

Embedded devices tend to have a long life cycle, so AMD has promised "planned availability of up to seven years" to ensure that parts can be used for long-term support.
