CTOnews.com, March 14 (Xinhua)-- Netgear today released its first Wi-Fi 7 product, the Nighthawk RS700 wireless router.

Wi-Fi 7 brings a lot of improvements to the wireless experience, with faster speeds, lower latency, and more efficient channel utilization (especially when there are multiple clients). The standard also allows multi-link operation, and customers can connect to the AP through different frequency bands at the same time. All Wi-Fi 7 routers must be tri-band (supporting 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz) to take advantage of all the advantages of the new standard. Compared to their Wi-Fi 6e flagship product Nighthawk, RS700 has almost twice the wireless throughput and comes with 10G WAN and LAN ports, the router is based on Broadcom's Wi-Fi 7 platform.

Nighthawk RS700 adopts a new design style and a tower structure, which is not only conducive to heat dissipation, but also optimize the position of the antenna and reduce interference.

Nighthawk RS700 supports link aggregation at both ends of LAN and WAN, and the router is equipped with a USB 3.0 port that can connect to storage drives or printers.

Nighthawk RS700, which starts taking pre-orders today, costs $700 (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 4802 yuan) and is expected to go on sale in the second quarter of 2023. The company claims that the router can support more than 200 client devices connected at the same time and can cover 3500 square feet of residential area, enough to meet the needs of most consumer families.
