Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com, March 14, CTOnews.com learned from Qualcomm China's official account that today, Qualcomm Technology announced the launch of the world's first integrated 5G Internet of things processor designed to support four major operating systems, two new robotic platforms, and an accelerator program for Internet of things ecosystem partners.

Qualcomm Technologies' high-end SoC Qualcomm QCS6490 and Qualcomm QCM6490 processors, which are widely used in Internet of things applications, have been upgraded to support four different operating systems. Qualcomm QCS6490 / Qualcomm QCM6490 is the industry's first processor that runs Linux, Ubuntu and Microsoft Windows IoT Enterprise Edition in addition to supporting Android.

Qualcomm QCS6490 / Qualcomm QCM6490 processors provide advanced features such as 5G global connectivity and geolocation for a wide range of solutions, including networked camera terminals (such as traffic recorders), edge computing boxes, industrial automation equipment (IPC, PLC) and autonomous mobile robots.

In addition, the new Qualcomm QCM5430 processor and Qualcomm QCS5430 processor are the first software-defined Internet of things solutions from Qualcomm Technologies. The platform can be extended to cover a wide range of Internet of things terminals and provide a visual environment for deployment and configuration. Including OEM manufacturers of industrial handheld terminals, retail equipment, mid-range robots and networked cameras, AI edge boxes and other equipment manufacturers. Qualcomm QCM5430 / Qualcomm QCS5430 processors can support dual cameras of up to 192 megapixels, concurrent services of up to five cameras, and video coding up to 4K60fps. With low power consumption and advanced edge AI processing, the processor can support machine vision requirements. When necessary, the edge AI can switch to cloud processing to handle multiple camera connections and choose between response time and energy efficiency according to the needs of the manufacturer or user. Wi-Fi network support includes 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6e) with transmission speeds up to 3.6Gbps, as well as other enhancements to reduce latency, improve response speed and support seamless handover in dense mesh network environments such as hospitals and warehouses. Qualcomm QCM5430 processor connection kits in different configurations also include 5G modems that support millimeter wave connections for ultra-fast data transmission and high-precision positioning. The wired connection options in the above feature combination can support one USB 3.1port and one PCIe port, and can be configured with up to two PCIe ports and a display port that supports 4K60fps resolution, among other options.

Qualcomm also released the new Qualcomm Robot RB1 platform and Qualcomm Robot RB2 platform, which are optimized for smaller terminals and lower power consumption, making them more cost-effective and easier for the industry to adopt. The Qualcomm Robot RB1 platform and Qualcomm Robot RB2 platform have general computing and AI-centric performance as well as communication technology, built-in machine vision technology that supports up to three cameras, provides end-to-side intelligence, and fuses this data with TDK's innovative high-performance sensors for applications such as automatic navigation. The feature combination of the Qualcomm Robot RB2 platform extends on the Qualcomm Robot RB1 platform, with upgraded computing and GPU performance, as well as a dedicated AI accelerator that provides twice the processing power of the Qualcomm Robot RB1 platform. Therefore, the Qualcomm robot RB2 platform can run advanced and real-time terminal-side AI functions to interact with machine learning, detection, classification and environment. It can support cameras with a resolution of up to 2500 megapixels and has upgraded security features including secure DSP and UI. Qualcomm Robot RB2 platform also provides support for other peripheral standards such as UFS2.1, GPIO and UART. Both platforms support current and emerging connectivity standards, including wired connections (USB 3.1 Type-C interconnection and EMMC v5.1 storage interface to SD3.0) and wireless connections to 5G via Wi-Fi and LTE. Qualcomm Robot RB1 platform and Qualcomm Robot RB2 platform and their development kits can be ordered through Chuangtong Unicom later this month. At present, Qualcomm's robotic platform is playing a role in various industries around the world and beyond, according to officials. In 2021, the first helicopters to fly on Mars were equipped with Qualcomm robots and drone platforms.
