Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com March 14 news, the projector manufacturer nut projection announced today that on March 14, 2023, nut projection officially switched the brightness standard of its projection products from American ANSI lumens to Chinese CVIA lumens.

The original text of the announcement attached to CTOnews.com:

As the main consumer and exporter of the current global projection market, the development of China's projection market represents the future of the global projection industry. However, for a long time, the projection industry has been plagued by outdated and inconsistent luminance standards.

The current mainstream testing standard ANSI lumen was released in 1990 and is based on traditional light bulb light sources. After the innovation of mercury lamp, LED and tricolor laser, the old standard can not keep up with the upgrading of light source technology, which not only restricts the development of the market, but also makes users face the problem of choice.

Therefore, led by Nut projection, the China Electronic Video Industry Association and its member units and the e-commerce platform jointly issued the Chinese CVIA brightness standard, the full name of "projector optical output technical requirements and test methods". On the basis of the existing international and national standards, this standard gives a more perfect and unified explanation and specification of the standard method and technical requirements of projection on the index of light output (luminance). It is the first group standard specifically for the brightness of projectors in China. Its application is not only conducive to reduce the understanding cost of consumers, enhance the user experience, but also conducive to the growth and development of enterprises and the establishment of a fair and orderly market environment.

Nut projection said that as the drafting unit of the white paper on CVIA luminance standards, nut projection is well aware of the significance of the proposal and wide application of CVIA luminance standards, and is willing to assume corporate responsibility, becoming a forerunner in the active implementation of CVIA luminance standards, shaping the new atmosphere of the industry together with users and peers.

On February 16, 2023, China Electronic Video Industry Association held the last discussion meeting on the preparation of group standards for the "technical requirements and test methods of optical output of projectors" under the Beijing line. Representatives of more than ten enterprises, including Nuts, Jumi, Dangbei, Fengmi, Xiaomi, Hisense, BOE, Orange Technology, Zhima, Rigel, Skycannon, Anhua Optoelectronics, and platform businessmen JD.com and Tmall attended this meeting.

After enthusiastic discussions and exchanges among experts from all walks of life and platforms, the group standard of "Technical requirements and Test methods for Optical output of Projectors" finally formed a draft for soliciting opinions, which has now officially entered the stage of publicity. This means that Chinese people will soon have their first projection luminance standard-CVIA. After the end of the publicity period on March 16, the new luminance standard of CVIA will be released and implemented for the whole industry.
