Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com, March 14 (Xinhua)-- Sony recently submitted a statement to the British Competition and Market Authority (CMA), pointing out that Microsoft's commitment to multi-platform support for games such as call of Duty after the acquisition of Activision Blizzard is not credible. Sony believes that Microsoft has broken its previous commitment to the European Commission in the game Starfield, so its statements on other games cannot be trusted.

Starry Sky, a space role-playing game developed by Bethesda Game Studio, is seen as the next masterpiece on a par with the Ancient Scrolls and radiation series. The game will be released on September 6 and will only be available on Xbox Series X / S and PC, which means that PlayStation players will not be able to play the game.

Sony pointed out that when Microsoft applied to the European Commission to buy Bethesda last year, it said it had "no incentive" to restrict the release of games produced by Bethesda on multiple platforms. However, shortly after the acquisition, Microsoft announced the exclusivity of Star, without taking into account the expectations of PlayStation players.

Although Microsoft has never explicitly announced that Star will be launched on the PlayStation platform, Sony believes it is likely to become a multi-platform game in the years between the game's first release and its official launch last year. As a result, Sony believes that Microsoft has broken its promise in this matter, and is worried that it will do the same for other well-known Activision Blizzard series, such as call of Duty.

It is reported that Microsoft has expressed its willingness to continue to release games such as call of Duty on multiple platforms and has signed a 10-year contract with Nintendo to introduce the series to the Switch platform. Microsoft also said call of Duty would be available on the next-generation PlayStation mainframe and offered Sony a 10-year agreement to guarantee that the series would be released on its mainframe (but Sony rejected it).

At present, the British CMA has not made a final decision on Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard, so it is not clear whether Sony's announcement will affect the outcome of the review, and CTOnews.com will keep an eye on it.
