CTOnews.com, March 14 (Xinhua)-- the driverless taxi (Robotaxi) project built by Nissan Travel Service Co., Ltd. has now officially launched a test operation in Suzhou.

▲ source: Nissan China official website CTOnews.com learned from the Nissan official that the test is based on the mass-produced pure electric model, the Nissan leaf, and carries out the landing test in Suzhou through the self-driving technical support provided by Wenyuan Zhixing WeRide.

In the first phase of the test operation, Nissan driverless taxis will cover the core areas of Suzhou high-speed rail new city and open roads. Local residents in Suzhou can call Nissan's self-driving taxi through the mobile application "E23 trip" in the operating area, and go to the designated boarding station to experience self-driving travel.

Nissan said that Nissan and Wenyuan will continue to work together in the future to accelerate and expand the landing and operation of Nissan's driverless taxis in China. Data show that so far, Wenyuan knows that the bank has safely operated self-driving taxis for more than 1000 days.
