Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
CTOnews.com, March 13 (Xinhua) recently, a strange thing happened to Tesla Model 3 owner from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, when he was able to use his Tesla mobile phone App to unlock someone else's car and drive away, according to Insideevs.
The owner, Rajesh Randev, inadvertently unlocked someone else's Tesla with Tesla App on his own mobile phone and drove away. He thought he got into his car-because the two cars were of the same color and parked together, but in fact he was driving away someone else's Tesla.
According to reports, he was in a hurry at that time because he had to pick up the children from school, so he didn't look at the car carefully and thought it was his own. Randev said he opened the car door with App, got in the car and left. After a while, he began to realize that something was wrong because there was a crack in the windshield of the car he was driving, and he began to suspect that it was not his car, especially when he found that the charger was not in its usual place.
Just then, he received a text message that read: "Hello Rajesh, are you driving Tesla?" The text message came from the real owner of the car, telling Rajesh that he was driving the wrong car.
After stopping the car, Randev noticed that the tires of the car were different from those of his Model 3, so he called and texted his person and admitted to driving the wrong car. And miraculously, Randev was able to get into the car again and drive it to pick up the kids from school. After that, he met the real owner of the car and returned the car. The car owner told Randev that he was able to text him because he saw a note with his name and phone number in his Tesla.
Randev said he didn't know why this could happen and why Tesla App on his mobile phone could unlock other people's cars. Randev said he had contacted Tesla and submitted video evidence, but some emails were returned and so far no one contacted him.
Some netizens speculate that the vehicle may not be locked and is in "valet parking" mode, but whether this is the case is still unknown. As of CTOnews.com, Tesla has not officially responded to this.
