Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com March 13 news, in the recent 2023 investor day, Tesla disclosed some data related to electric vehicle charging.

Tesla has announced that it has produced 4 million electric vehicles. According to Tesla's March 1, 2023 introduction, the cumulative total mileage of all models is close to 80 billion miles (129 billion kilometers), which means that the average mileage per vehicle is about 20,000 miles (about the number, not excluding vehicles that have been scrapped).

All Tesla vehicles travel about 123 million miles per day, charging 1.9 million times per day (on average), and each vehicle travels about 30 + miles (48 kilometers) per day.

In addition, Tesla cars travel an average of 65 miles (105 km) between charges (AC or DC). It appears that many owners don't charge their cars every day, as the average daily mileage seems to be about half the distance traveled between charges.

By the end of 2022, Tesla had 4,678 charging stations with 42,419 individual connectors, an average of 9.1 connectors per charging station.

In the next slide, Tesla points out that 1.5 million supercharges per week (about 214,000 per day) and that the charging network provided about 9 terawatt hours (TWh) of electricity in 2022. This means that a supercharging station is used on average about 320 times a week, while a charging connector is used 35 times. All these figures are very rough estimates.

In terms of supercharge time, the company said the average charge time is gradually decreasing and is currently about 27.5 minutes.

CTOnews.com notes that the chart provided below shows Tesla managing to reduce charging time through various measures, including boosting charging power, battery warm-up, and others encouraging users to charge only to the level needed to reach the next charging station. If this trend continues, the average supercharge time could be less than 25 minutes in the future.
