However, a Reddit netizen tested that the photos taken through Space Zoom were made by Samsung using AI models, adding details to the high-resolution images, which has sparked a heated debate.

The netizen said that many people had questioned Samsung's P-map of the moon through AI, but no one found definite evidence. What he did was to download a near-perfect image of the moon from the Internet, reduce it to a resolution of 170 x 170, and perform Gaussian blur to remove all the details.

Then he magnified the blurred image to four times, turned off all the lights in the room, walked to the other end of the room, took a picture using the Space Zoom function of the Samsung phone, and released a blurred image of the moon compared with the image taken from the phone.

As can be seen from the picture, the moon captured by Samsung phones has rich details. The netizen said Samsung used an artificial intelligence model that incorporated details that were not found in the original image, such as the crater on the right.

According to CTOnews.com, this is not the first time Samsung phones have been questioned about modifying moon images through AI. In early 2021, some netizens questioned the 100x zoom of Galaxy S21 Ultra, and Samsung officials said they used AI to "improve the quality" of images taken by their phones.
