During his five-day visit, Quan Yingshou is expected to visit the company's battery production plant in Nanjing, the source said. This is his first visit to China since he became head of South Korea's largest battery maker in 2021.
It is reported that Quan Yingshou may inspect the cylindrical battery production line at the Nanjing plant, which is being supplied to Tesla, one of the company's main customers.
Quan Yingshou will also review the progress of the plan to transform part of the Nanjing plant into a lithium iron phosphate battery (LFP) production line, which aims to produce batteries for the energy storage system (ESS).
According to CTOnews.com, the world's second-largest battery maker plans to increase its investment in equipment by more than 50 per cent in 2023 and increase annual sales by 25 to 30 per cent year-on-year.
