In terms of public charging infrastructure, the number of public charging piles increased by 31000 in February compared with January, and increased by 54.1% in February compared with the same period last year.

As of February 2023, a total of 1.869 million public charging piles have been reported by the members of the alliance, including 796000 DC charging piles and 1.072 million AC charging piles. From March 2022 to February 2023, about 55000 new public charging piles were added every month.

In February 2023, the country's total rechargeable electricity was about 2.54 billion kWh, an increase of 230 million kWh over the previous month, an increase of 115.3% over the same period last year, and an increase of 9.8% over the previous month.

In February 2023, the increment of charging infrastructure was 378000, of which the increment of public charging piles increased by 54.1 per cent compared with the same period last year, while the increment of private charging piles built with cars continued to rise, up 125.3 per cent from the same period last year. As of February 2023, the cumulative number of charging infrastructure in the country reached 5.588 million, an increase of 95.1% over the same period last year.

According to the geographical division, the public charging infrastructure TOP10 areas are Guangdong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai, Beijing, Hubei, Shandong, Anhui, Henan and Fujian. The proportion of public charging piles built in these ten provinces accounts for 71.3%.

In addition, the amount of electricity charged throughout the country is mainly concentrated in Guangdong, Jiangsu, Hebei, Sichuan, Zhejiang, Fujian, Shanghai, Shaanxi, Shanxi, Henan and other provinces, and the main flow of electricity is buses and passenger cars. According to the comparison between charging infrastructure and electric vehicles, in February 2023, the increase in charging infrastructure was 378000 units, sales of new energy vehicles were 933000, and charging infrastructure and new energy vehicles continued to grow rapidly. The export of new energy vehicles was 87000, up 5.3% from the previous month and 79.5% over the same period last year.

According to the national passenger car market analysis report of the Federation of passengers in February 2023, the retail sales of passenger cars in February 2023 reached 1.39 million, an increase of 10.4% over the same period last year, and an increase of 7.5% month-on-month. The domestic retail penetration rate of new energy vehicles in February was 31.6%, which was 10 percentage points higher than the 21.7% penetration rate in February 2021.
