In the face of a screen full of English words, how to make a good-looking courseware in the simplest way is a headache for many teachers. Today I will take you to solve this kind of design problem.

01. Cover

At first glance, it applies the template, but because the style is old, it doesn't look good.

First of all, make a preliminary arrangement and remove the redundant embellishments:

Enlarge the main title, open the information level, it will be much cleaner.

Of course, in addition to center alignment, left alignment can also be used:

Which layout is used depends on the composition of the material.

For example, I chose a picture that the students were thinking about and adopted the left-right structure:

This picture sets off the atmosphere of the theme, and it is very appropriate to use it.

But there are two points that can be further optimized:

1. The eyes of the characters look at the outside of the picture, but it is better to look inside the picture. two。 As it is a buckle-free graph, the whole is somewhat empty.

Combining these two points, I iterated this version:

Replaced a photo with an environment, the characters are also facing the picture, the whole is more compact and full.

At this point, a simple and beautiful cover is designed.

02. Picture page

Similarly, remove redundant embellishments to align the picture and text:

Three pictures are used here, all around "listening". However, the style of figure 3 does not match that of the first two pictures, and the difference between the first two pictures is not obvious.

Therefore, I suggest that a large picture of "listening" should be put directly to echo the theme, and the broken down categories should be shown with icons:

Of course, you can also use physical pictures such as "tape" and "radio". Just pay attention to the unity of style.

In the end, it was done in a few details:

03. Conversation page

At first glance, it looks like a table, but when you read it, you will find that it is actually three sets of conversations.

There is the questioner on the left and the answerer on the right. First of all, open the information hierarchy:

The relationship of the dialogue will be clearer.

Then add a photo of the student conversation:

And combined with the icon to vividly show the dialogue relationship between the two people.

If you think the picture is a little empty, you can also integrate it into the environmental background:

For example, a picture of the campus playground, the scene feeling is directly full!

04. Question and answer page

A question, here are some of the answers listed. Let's make a preliminary arrangement:

"difficulty" is mentioned in the question, so add a picture of the student scratching his head to echo the theme:

Reviewing the whole revision process, the difficulty is how to get rid of the monotonous feeling brought by all English. My solution is to introduce pictures to build the scene, which can not only echo the theme, but also enrich the vision.
