CTOnews.com March 11, Intel recently released the Intel Agilex 7 FPGA F-Tile, equipped with field programmable gate array (FPGA) transceivers. Can be applied to data centers and high-speed networks. Designed for embedded, network and cloud computing customers, Intel Agilex 7 FPGA F-Tile is a flexible hardware solution with leading transceiver performance, providing up to 116 Gbps and enhanced 400 GbE intellectual property (IP).
Intel Agilex 7 F-Tile supports network, cloud and embedded applications, as well as bandwidth-intensive and compute-intensive applications such as IPU. In addition, the Agilex 7 F-Tile doubles the bandwidth per channel compared to the previous generation of Intel FPGA, helping products provide higher data traffic, reduce power consumption, and meet strict form factor constraints.
The Agilex 7 F-Tile is manufactured using Intel 10nm SuperFin process technology, giving customers the flexibility to customize chip designs according to their specific needs. Based on multiprotocol capabilities and support, as well as faster data transfer speeds, Intel helps customers implement new connection topologies in a single device. For example, the Agilex 7 F-Tile provides rich functionality and supports optical network applications ranging from 400 Gbps to 1.6 Tbps, as well as applications such as high-speed broadband applications or 25swap 50G passive optical networks for broadcast standards such as HDMI and SDI.
With Agilex 7, Intel will continue to optimize FPGA, including optical networks, data centers, studios, medical testing facilities, and 5G networks.
FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) is the product of further development on the basis of programmable devices such as PAL (Programmable Array Logic) and GAL (General Array Logic). It appears as a kind of semi-custom circuit in the field of application specific integrated circuit (ASIC). It not only solves the deficiency of custom circuit, but also overcomes the disadvantage of the limited number of gate circuits of the original programmable device. FPGA itself constitutes a typical integrated circuit in semi-custom circuits, including digital management module, embedded unit, output unit, input unit and so on.
