CTOnews.com March 11 news, iPhone's dedicated MLB application released iOS version 16.0.1 update, the new support for real-time activities (Live Activities). With Live Activities,MLB users can follow their favorite team without opening the app and track the score directly from the lock screen.

On iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, scores can also be tracked through Smart Island. After updating to the latest version, users can select the "track" option from the event list to add the latest score to the lock screen and "Smart Island".

Real-time events for MLB games are already available through the Apple TV TV app, but it wasn't until this week that the MLB app itself supported real-time events. Since the release of iOS 16.1 in October last year, real-time activities have been available for third-party applications. Given that MLB is partnering with Apple to provide content, it's not clear why it took so long to adapt to the feature.

The MLB app has been updated for the 2023 season, and in addition to real-time event support, the app now includes a new user-led experience, a "watch" option for 24max 7 shows, team schedules and tickets for 2023, updated ranking pages, and more.

The MLB application is available for free download from App Store, but a subscription is required to unlock everything. The cost of visiting a number of events is $24.99 per month (CTOnews.com Note: currently about RMB174RMB) or full year (CTOnews.com Note: currently about RMB1043).

"Friday Night Baseball" will be launched on Apple TV+ at the beginning of the 2023 season. The first game is scheduled for Friday, April 7, with the Texas Rangers against the Chicago Cubs and the San Diego Padres against the Atlanta Warriors.
