CTOnews.com, March 11 (Xinhua)-- after two years of investigation into the terms of Apple's App Store app, British regulators announced that the investigation would be extended to May this year.

The Competition and Market Authority (CMA) launched an antitrust investigation into Apple's App Store app store in March 2021. The survey focuses on the 30% commission Apple charges developers and the use of Apple services by app payment systems.

CTOnews.com previously reported that CMA said in a statement released in 2021 that the investigation would determine whether Apple dominates the distribution of applications for Apple devices in the UK, based on which it investigates whether Apple has imposed unfair or anti-competitive terms on app developers, resulting in fewer user choices and higher fees. Andrea Coscelli, chief executive of CMA, said in a statement that "the complaints are worthy of careful scrutiny".
