CTOnews.com, March 11, according to a new entry in the Microsoft roadmap, Microsoft plans to add new non-email-related features to Outlook applications on mobile devices. This feature, called "Authenticator Lite", allows users to log in to their work or school accounts without downloading other applications.

The Authenticator Lite validator feature allows users to perform multi-factor authentication for their work or school accounts using the Outlook application on an iOS or Android device.

Multi-factor authentication (CTOnews.com Note: MFA full name Multi-Factor Authentication) is a basic security feature that helps customers protect their online identity by adding an additional layer of protection. Before granting access to a specific account, MFA requires two or more forms of authentication-for example, one-time passwords, physical security keys, SMS SMS authentication, and so on.

Microsoft has provided dedicated Authenticator applications for iOS and Android, which are freely available on App Store and Google Play Store. But millions of Outlook users will be able to strengthen the security of their accounts without having to download other software. Microsoft said that "Authenticator Lite" will be fully launched on Android and iOS in March 2023.

Although multifactor authenticators are simple, many users still think of them as tedious solutions. Integrating MFA functionality into Outlook will help make multifactor authentication easier and easier to access.
