CTOnews.com, March 10 (Xinhua) Samsung launched its first tracker, the Galaxy SmartTag, in early 2021, and has not released a new version since then.

According to foreign media SamMobile, Samsung will launch the second generation Galaxy SmartTag series in the third quarter of 2023. It is unclear what improvements Samsung will bring to its next-generation tracker, which is expected to improve wireless connection range, buzzer volume and enhanced security measures to prevent unauthorized tracking.

The upcoming Galaxy SmartTag is likely to be unveiled with Samsung's next-generation wearable devices, including Galaxy Buds 3 and Galaxy Watch 6, the report said. At the same event, Samsung is likely to launch its next generation of folding screen smartphones, Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5.

As previously reported by CTOnews.com, Samsung Galaxy SmartTag was launched in January 2021 and has two versions. The regular version of the Galaxy SmartTag, which uses Bluetooth to connect to the phone, costs $29.99, while the Galaxy SmartTag Plus adds the more accurate UWB ultra-wideband technology, which costs $39.99.
