CTOnews.com, March 10 (Xinhua)-- NASA is tracking a pool-sized asteroid 2023 DW and says it has a 1/600 chance of hitting Earth. Scientists predict the asteroid's orbit and predict that it will be closest to Earth on Valentine's Day in 2046.

NASA Asteroid Watch's official Twitter account said the asteroid was first spotted on February 27, 2023 and is estimated to be 50 meters in diameter and the size of an Olympic-sized swimming pool.

NASA says it is keeping a close eye on the asteroid and will need to observe for several more weeks to more accurately predict its trajectory. CTOnews.com learned from the report that NASA said that although the 1/600 probability sounds dangerous, the actual probability of a collision with Earth is "very small."
