CTOnews.com, March 10 / PRNewswire-FirstCall-Asianet /-- according to a new entry on Kernel.org, Google engineer Siarhei Vishniakou has developed a new Linux driver that provides vibration support for Xbox game consoles.

After talking to the Xbox team, Vishniakou provided vibration support in the Linux system for the two Xbox One handles of model 1708 and model 1914 and the Xbox Elite Series 2 handle of model 1797.

Google engineers developed the Linux driver in the hope that the Linux-based ChromeOS can also support Xbox handle vibration. CTOnews.com learned from the report that if the driver is accepted by Linux kernel maintainers, it is expected to be integrated into the Linux 6.4 kernel.
