CTOnews.com, March 9 (Xinhua)-- in addition to the news that Microsoft Teams will usher in a major update and performance improvement this month, the development team of the online meeting and chat tool is still adding some small new features to it. Microsoft's Roadmap 365 adds a number of new Teams features under development, one of which is that Teams will soon be able to support spatial audio.

The description of spatial audio on the roadmap is very vague: spatial audio brings the next generation of three-dimensional audio to Teams, allowing you to conduct meetings as if you were offline. This intelligent audio technology makes the meeting experience more natural, inclusive, and focused.

It is understood that space audio can simulate a 360-degree sound system, but only a pair of speakers and headphones are supported, which means that when Teams users have meetings, they can hear the location of the speakers as they do in the offline conference room. The feature will be officially launched in May for desktop and Mac users.

This is not the only new feature that Teams will introduce in the coming months. CTOnews.com has an overview of new features that have been added to the roadmap in the past week:

Improve the front gallery for Teams Room on Windows. Improve the front-row experience of Team Rooms on Windows, using Microsoft's artificial intelligence to remove individual backgrounds, resize video participants, and apply a unified background design to make remote participants look as if they were in the same room. The Teams button allows you to join the meeting from the pre-join screen. Starting today, users can successfully join and participate in a meeting directly through the Teams button on their Microsoft Teams certified peripherals. After the user is notified of the start of the meeting, the user can press the Teams button to bring up their meeting pre-join screen. Now, press the Teams button again and users can join the meeting (expected to be launched in April 2023, platform: desktop, Mac)

Enhanced OneDrive file selector. Users can take advantage of the new user interface to more easily browse, access, and select files in OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams. (expected to be launched in March 2023, platform: Teams and Surface devices, network, desktop)

Use the Teams content camera on the Desktop to enable the second video stream. Users will be able to enable a second video stream to support their personal video and Teams Content Camera on Desktop features. When the Teams content camera on the Desktop feature is enabled, personal video is retained as long as the user selects a separate camera to support two video streams. (expected to be launched in March 2023, platform: desktop, Mac)

Call the content camera function on the desktop. Currently, users must open the sharing of the content camera in Microsoft Teams through the sharing tray of the Teams conference phase. In the future, users will be able to start and stop sharing content directly from certified Teams devices.
