BMW Group's MINI brand announced that it will launch three new electric vehicles in the next 12 months, including the next-generation Mini Cooper, the new Aceman electric crossover and the slightly larger Countryman EV SUV.

According to foreign media reports, first, MINI brand will launch the first generation Countryman electric car in February 2024, which will be the brand's first electric SUV and will compete with Tesla Model Y.

Subsequently, the brand will launch the Mini Aceman, a 4-door all-electric crossover, which will be announced in 2024 but will be launched in early 2025.

Earlier, foreign media reported that BMW's all-electric Mini Aceman will be produced in China as part of a partnership between BMW and Great Wall Motors.

Finally, the brand will launch the next generation Mini Cooper. Based on a dedicated electric vehicle platform developed by Spotlight Automotive, a joint venture between BMW and Great Wall Motors, the model will be available in 40kWh and 54kWh batteries and will be available in May 2024.

In October 2022, foreign media reported that BMW would transfer its Mini electric car production line from the UK to China. The company has been producing Mini electric cars at its Cowley plant in the suburbs of Oxford, but plans to stop producing Mini electric cars at the plant by the end of 2023 because it is inefficient to produce electric cars and petrol cars on the same production line.

Foreign media also reported at the time that from 2023, the plant will focus on producing gasoline-powered Mini cars for the domestic and international markets, and the plant is expected to produce new electric vehicles as early as 2030.
